Execution

  1. 1
Lie face down on the floor with your arms extended in front of you and the resistance band in both hands.
  2. 2
Engage your core and simultaneously lift your arms, chest, and legs off the floor. Your body should form a slight arch.
  3. 3
Pull the band apart by moving your hands toward the sides of your head while drawing your shoulder blades together.
  4. 4
Slowly return to the starting position and repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.

Benefits

This exercise offers a unique combination of muscle strengthening and flexibility training. It improves posture, reduces back pain, and increases functional strength for daily activities and other sports.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the movements too quickly: Focus on the quality of each repetition rather than the quantity.
  • ! Straining the neck: Keep your neck in a neutral position by directing your gaze toward the floor.
  • ! Not pulling the band far enough apart: Make sure you actually feel the resistance by pulling the band as far apart as possible.

Main Muscles

  • Back muscles
  • Shoulder muscles
  • Glutes
  • Core

Possible Alternatives

If you want to adjust the intensity, you can vary the thickness of the resistance band. A thicker band provides more resistance, while a thinner band makes the exercise easier. You can also make the exercise more challenging by wearing a weighted vest.
