  • Plank to Squat

Introduction: The Plank to Squat is a dynamic exercise that combines both strength and cardio. This exercise helps improve your stability, strength, and endurance through a combination of two popular movements: the plank and the squat.

Execution: Begin in a standard plank position with your hands under your shoulders and your body in a straight line. Jump your feet forward so that your knees come toward your chest and you land in a deep squat position. Make sure your back remains straight and your chest stays lifted. Then jump back to the plank position and repeat the movement.

Primary Muscles: This exercise primarily works your core, quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and shoulders.

Benefits: The Plank to Squat raises your heart rate, which helps burn calories. It also strengthens several muscle groups and improves your overall body coordination and flexibility.

Common Mistakes: A common mistake is failing to maintain a straight back during the squat. Make sure you do not lean forward with your upper body. Keep your chest lifted and your back straight. Another mistake is failing to fully extend your legs in the plank position, which reduces the effectiveness of the exercise.

Possible Alternatives: If the jump is too intense, you can step your feet forward and back instead of jumping. For an additional challenge, add a push-up between the plank and the squat, or hold a weight during the squat.
