Leg Circles

  • Leg Circles
  • Leg Circles

Introduction: Leg Circles are an effective exercise for strengthening your core and improving hip flexibility. This exercise also helps stabilize your pelvis and strengthen your lower abdominal muscles.

Execution: Lie on your back with your arms at your sides and your palms facing down. Lift your legs and extend them straight up toward the ceiling. Inhale and begin rotating your legs in a circular motion. Start with small circles and gradually make them larger, depending on your flexibility and strength. Keep your back flat on the floor throughout the exercise. Make 5 to 10 circles in one direction, then switch directions.

Key Muscles: This exercise primarily targets the abdominal muscles, hip flexors, and the muscles around your pelvis and lower back.

Benefits: Leg Circles help improve hip mobility, strengthen the core muscles, and may contribute to better balance and stability. They are also useful for reducing the risk of hip and lower-back complaints.

Common Mistakes: A common mistake is not keeping the abdominal muscles tight, causing the lower back to lift off the floor. Make sure your core remains engaged and your back stays flat on the mat. Also avoid circles that are too fast or too large, as they can cause you to lose control.

Possible Alternatives: For beginners, it may be helpful to make smaller circles or move one leg at a time. If you want to increase the intensity, try making the circles larger or add ankle weights.
