Execution

  1. 1
Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Place a resistance band around your thighs, just above your knees.
  2. 2
Lift your hips toward the ceiling so that your body forms a straight line from your shoulders to your knees.
  3. 3
While keeping your hips lifted, lift one leg by bringing your knee toward your chest. Make sure you stretch the resistance band.
  4. 4
Place your foot back down and repeat with the other leg. This is one repetition.
  5. 5
Perform 10–15 repetitions for 2–3 sets.

Benefits

The Hip Lift March Band not only improves the strength and tone of your glutes, but also strengthens your core and improves your balance. Adding the march movement creates a dynamic challenge that tests your stability.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Letting the hips drop: Make sure your hips remain lifted throughout the exercise to ensure maximum engagement of the glutes.
  • ! Moving too quickly: Perform the movement slowly and in a controlled manner to train the muscles effectively and prevent injuries.

Primary Muscles

This exercise targets the gluteus maximus (your glutes), hamstrings, and core. The resistance band adds an extra challenge for your abductors.

Possible Alternatives

If you want to adjust the intensity, you can increase or decrease the resistance of the band. No band? No problem. Perform the exercise without a band for a less intense variation. For an extra challenge, you can place a weight on your hips during the hip lift.
