Benefits

The Bent Knee Lying Twist on a stability ball not only improves core strength and stability, but also helps improve the flexibility and mobility of your spine. This can contribute to better posture, reduced back pain, and a lower risk of injury.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Moving too quickly: It is important to perform the movement slowly and with control to achieve maximum muscle activation.
  • ! Rotating too far: Do not rotate farther than is comfortable to avoid overloading your back.
  • ! Losing the ball: Make sure to engage your core properly to maintain stability and avoid rolling off the ball.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the obliques, but also the entire core, including the rectus abdominis and erector spinae. In addition, the stabilizing muscles around the hips and lower back are also trained.

Possible Alternatives

If you want to adjust the intensity of the exercise, you can consider:

  • Lying on the floor without a stability ball for a less intensive variation.
  • Clamping a medicine ball between your knees for additional resistance.
  • Lifting your feet off the floor and keeping your legs at a 90-degree angle for an additional challenge.
