Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been named ‘sexiest man alive’ by People Magazine.
Sexiest man Alive
As a man, the annual ‘sexiest man alive’ as proclaimed by People Magazine doesn’t interest me much [1]. ‘Pretty boy actors’, footballers with a high voice, and a deceased president. However, this year’s ‘sexiest man alive’ is a “man’s man”. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson falls more into the
Schwarzenegger category for me than the Brad Pitt category. So, it wasn’t surprising that Anne and I were both excited as groupies to be in the same room with both men during the Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
‘The Rock’ is currently the world’s highest-paid actor, earning about $64 million per year [3]. But like Arnold, there’s something that sets him apart from other actors. The passion for weight training existed for years before he even considered acting. In an article about bodybuilding in the film industry, I described The Rock as the ‘last action hero’. The man who follows in the footsteps of Arnold, Sylvester, and Dolph. Not the kind of actor who calls upon a bunch of personal trainers and
steroids when a role requires more muscle mass, but someone who has been working on his body his whole life. Muscle and Fitness even named him ‘Man of the Century’ [2].
Dwayne started weight training to support American Football and later for show wrestling, in which he succeeded his father, Rocky Johnson (image right). Another man with such an impressive physique. So, it was ingrained in him from the start.
The Rock for President
In an interview with People Magazine, The Rock indicates that he seriously considers running for the presidency of the United States at some point. And so I started to really think. Could I make a difference? Could I surround myself with really brilliant people to help me make decisions? Do I care about this country? And when the answers continued to come up yes, then I thought, there’s a good chance. Yeah, one day. Then we’ll do another interview like this.
Nowadays, such a statement from an actor is not laughable. In the past, Reagan preceded him. My generation will rather think of Arnold, who probably had more aspirations than
governator if he had been born in the U.S. However, young people will mainly think: “If Trump can win…”
Well aged
Another important reason why I’m glad The Rock was chosen is that he is now 44. Since yesterday, I’m happy with any proof that men look better after their 40s.
