Sweet potato with minced meat and lamb’s lettuce

Geschatte leestijd: 2 minuten Simplicity is sometimes the best choice, as with this flavorful dish. By chance, I came up with this combination and it turned out so well that I couldn’t resist perfecting the recipe into a worthy dish to share with you all! This is a meal for when you’re really hungry. It’s filling and gives you that old-fashioned mashed potato feeling. Once again, it’s a combination of proteins, complex carbohydrates, fibers, and low fat content! No gravy needed! Great for post-workout! Sweet potato has the taste combination of potato and carrot. You can make delicious mash with it and it’s full of vitamins and minerals. You can do so much with quark! I make dressings from it, garlic sauce, spread it on bread, or use it as a replacement for sour cream, for example. And that’s exactly what I did in this dish. The quark provides a fresh, subtle, but creamy taste, is lean, and full of proteins. Healthy and delicious cooking can be so easy. Enjoy your meal!

Ingredients Sweet Potato with Minced Meat

  • 1 large sweet potato (otherwise 2)
  • 400 grams lean ground beef
  • 125 grams lamb’s lettuce
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 onions
  • 80 grams (lean) quark
  • pepper and sea salt
  • 125 grams mushrooms

Preparation Sweet Potato with Minced Meat

  1. Put a pan on the fire, filled halfway with water.
  2. Peel the sweet potato and cook it like regular potatoes.
  3. Put a frying pan on the fire and start browning the ground beef over medium-high heat.
  4. Cut the mushrooms and onions into fine small cubes.
  5. Now bake these with the minced meat and season with pepper and sea salt to taste.
  6. Now set to low heat.
  7. The sweet potato is ready when you can easily poke through it with a fork.
  8. Drain the water and let the sweet potato sit for a while.
  9. Now chop or crush the garlic finely and cut a handful of fresh chives into very fine pieces.
  10. Now make a mash from the sweet potato and mix it with the chives, the garlic, and some pepper and sea salt.
  11. Taste to see if the flavor is to your liking.
  12. You can choose to mix the mash with the minced meat or you can serve it separately in a bowl or plate.
  13. Now you can add a spoonful of quark on top and perhaps some parsley to make it look nice.
Tip! If you’re not a fan of sweet potato, you can replace it with quinoa or rice!
