Sausage and Sweet potato

Geschatte leestijd: 2 minuten Most so-called healthy fitness recipes often assume a small amount of carbohydrates and a lot of protein, at least compared to an average diet. That’s a noble goal, but sometimes you need your energy. And sometimes you crave a flavorful and slightly fattier dinner. That’s where this recipe comes in. This recipe has a preparation time of 5 minutes. While it’s cooking in the oven afterward, you can focus on more important matters, like creating a new workout routine, reading about why goji berries are just raisins, or cleaning your dumbbells. The recipe uses sweet potato. Bodybuilder’s food par excellence. The differences with ‘regular potatoes’ are not that big, so you can use those if you don’t have sweet potatoes at home. And I also use sausage in this recipe. Normally, you should avoid this type of meat because it’s the epitome of processed food. The worst parts of a slaughtered animal are ground and mixed with spices and then pressed into a cleaned intestine. Not really appetizing. Not really nutritious. If you make this dish, choose a sausage that you know uses good meat. And by good meat, I mean lean meat (such as beef or chicken) preferably organic. My advice for eating sausage: go to the butcher and ask for advice. It really pays off to eat good meat. It often tastes better, is healthier, and less fatty. In this recipe, I use organic chicken sausage.

Ingredients Sausage and Sweet Potato (for 1 person)

  • 1 large sweet potato (about 300 grams)
  • 2 organic chicken sausages (about 200 grams)
  • 1 pointed pepper (about 150 grams)
  • parsley

Preparation

Sausage and Sweet Potato

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius
  • Cut the sweet potato into fries
  • Cut the sausage into pieces about 2 cm in size
  • Cut the pepper into rings
  • Put everything in a bag or container and mix briefly
  • Spread everything on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • 25-30 minutes in the oven

Tip

  • Don’t use extra fat, pepper, and salt. There’s enough of that in the sausage, and it will come out during baking.
