Geschatte leestijd: 2 minuten Smoothies are becoming increasingly popular! And that’s not without reason. A smoothie provides you with a lot of nutrients immediately and is therefore also the ideal fuel to get through the day. I drink a (vegetable) smoothie for breakfast or as a snack. They give you extra energy because smoothies are rich in important proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Since I started drinking smoothies, I feel much healthier and have much less cravings for snacks, and through a smoothie, you can quickly get your daily portion. A green smoothie may not sound very appealing to many (understandably), but from my own experience, I can tell you that when you combine fruit with vegetables, you only taste the sweetness of the fruit and the taste of vegetables is certainly not overpowering. Even if you’re a fan of Superfoods, you can incorporate them well into your smoothie. I regularly add a tablespoon of raw cacao crisps to it; it gives your smoothie a nice chocolate bite. Beets are known for their healthy properties because the nitrates are said to increase your endurance and make your muscles work harder. I was looking for a pre-workout smoothie that gives you a natural boost before you start exercising. The combination of vegetables, fruit, and vanilla blend provides a delicious taste. Definitely recommended because the taste of the beet is not overpowering at all. Coconut water hydrates, and raw cocoa gives you the necessary energy.

Ingredients for Power Smoothie

  • 1 beetroot (precooked)
  • 150 ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 125 ml unsweetened coconut water
  • 30 g vanilla protein powder (can also be replaced by 1/2 banana or stevia)
  • optional; superfoods such as; 1 tsp raw cacao, goji berries, and chia seeds
  • 1 handful of berries
  • 5 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger

Preparation of Power Smoothie

  1. Cut the beetroot into large pieces
  2. Combine all ingredients in a blender
  3. Mix until a smooth mixture is formed.
  4. Pour the contents into a glass or jar and your smoothie is ready!
Tip! Use frozen fruit to make your smoothie extra refreshing!
