The Sinterklaas treats are already flying around! The holidays are the most fun moments for me to come up with recipes. Creating innovative creations, based on typical snacks but in a healthier version, and this time it turned out really well! Despite using only unrefined products in this recipe, they still contain a good portion of (healthy) fats and carbohydrates.
Ingredients for spiced nuts
- 100 gr. whole grain or spelt flour
- 1 tsp baking soda or cream of tartar
- 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
- juice of half a mandarin
- 1 tsp raw cocoa
- 10 gr. cookie or gingerbread spices
- 4 tbsp (melted) coconut oil
- 2 tbsp agave syrup
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar
- 2 tbsp Shake & Smoothie Mix
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp ginger juice
Preparation method for spiced nuts
- Start by preheating the oven to 200 degrees.
- Wash your hands carefully.
- The baking sheet can stay out of the oven.
- All ingredients can be combined in a mixing bowl.
- Knead them together well and form a large ball.
- Now make small, evenly sized balls out of it.
- Now place the balls on your hand and flatten them slightly, making sure the sides remain tight and round.
- Now place them (with a small distance from each other) on the baking sheet.
- Bake them for about 20 minutes. And don't bake them too long or too hot. So adjust it well with the ideal baking setting of your oven.
- The spiced nuts only become harder once they leave the oven! Let them cool down a bit and they're ready! Enjoy!
