The originally Italian actor Sylvester, Gardenzio, Stallone, is known to the general public for his 2 roles: Rocky Balboa, the boxer, and the War Veteran: John Rambo.

Sylvester Stallone was born on July 6th, 1946, in New York. He quickly got a nickname, Sly, and has a distinctive way of speaking, something he has retained from the complications at his birth.

This distinctive way of speaking is imitated by many comedians.

Sylvester Stallone’s career began in the porn industry. He was first seen in the porn film: The Party at Kitty and Stud’s. This was a soft porn film in which he played the role of Stud. The film later became known to the general public under the name: The Italian Stallion.

After this role, Sly played a few other minor roles, such as in Woody Allen’s Bananas, and he appeared in Kojak, the TV series.

In addition to acting, Stallone focused more on writing scripts and scenarios. He wrote the script for Rocky, the story of a rising boxer. The script was filmed in 1976, and Stallone played the lead role. The film was a great success and received no less than 10 Oscar nominations.

It eventually won 3 Oscars and spawned 6 Rocky films, all of which Stallone directed.

After the Big Breakthrough

Stallone’s successes didn’t stop with the Rocky films. After this big breakthrough, he wrote the script for the film First Blood. This film was released in 1982, in which, as with Rocky, he took on the lead role of John Rambo.

The Rambo films, like Rocky, became a great success. Ultimately, 3 Rambo films were released, and in 2008, the 4th film followed. In addition to these 2 well-known film series, Sly was also seen in a series of lesser-known films, such as: Staying Alive, Cobra, Demolition Man, Judge Dredd, and Stop! or my mom will shoot.

After the year 2000, Stallone took it easy.

In 2010, he returned with the film The Expendables, which he directed and in which he played the lead role himself. The film is characterized by the many action heroes such as Jet-Li, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In 2012, the sequel was released, The Expendables 2, in which Stallone even managed to get Jean Claude Van Damme to play the role of the bad guy. And even later followed The Expendables 3.

Training Schedule Sylvester Stallone

Over the years, Stallone’s body has undergone significant fluctuations. While he has managed to maintain his lean and muscular appearance, his weight has varied greatly.

Stallone himself acknowledges that this is due to extreme training for films. He states that a balanced diet and a good training schedule are sufficient to achieve a good physique.

The workouts for Rambo and Rocky films were very intense. He was incredibly determined to build a muscular body. His body fat percentage was around 8% outside of filming. During shooting, he was around 5% body fat.

Sylvester Stallone’s training schedule looked something like this:

Monday | Wednesday | Friday Morning: Chest (bench press), back (pulldowns), abs (crunches) Afternoon: Shoulders (military press, lateral raise), arms (curls), abs (crunches, leg raises)

Tuesday | Thursday | Saturday Morning: Calves (calf raises), thighs (squats) Afternoon: Rear deltoids (bent over row, shoulder press), traps (upright rows), abs (crunches)

Generally, he did 3 or 4 exercises per body part, and Stallone regularly varied to avoid plateaus and routine.

Sylvester Stallone Diet

Stallone has always had a low body fat percentage between 7% and 8% while always weighing around 85 kilograms for all his action films. The Rocky Balboa star did this with a high-protein diet and nutrition plan.

First and foremost, Sylvester Stallone is the most disciplined actor you’re going to come across. He doesn’t eat late, doesn’t snack, and doesn’t eat too much. Stallone sometimes adds pasta to his schedule, but only if it’s made from special flour. In addition, his diet mainly consists of fish and brown rice.

He himself said that his diet for The Expendables was quite monotonous, with 5 days low in fat intake.
